Three hurt after van hits cars

THREE teenagers were injured when a car collided with a parked vehicle.

The front seat passenger, a 17-year-old man from Barugh Green, Barnsley, had to be cut free by firefighters after the crash on Wingfield Road, Athersley South.

He was taken to Barnsley Hospital with a broken leg.

The 18-year-old male driver suffered slight bruising to his head, while a second passenger, another 18-year-old male, suffered bruising to his forehead and sustained a knee injury.

Both were also taken to Barnsley Hospital.

The pair had been in a white Ford Courier van, which collided with a parked silver Volkswagen Golf before hitting a wall, then going into a spin and hitting a second parked vehicle.

â–  South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at about 10pm on Friday. Call 101 quoting incident number 1,249 of February 8.
