A WOMAN had her mobile phone stolen by a man while she ate a meal with a child at the Abacus pub on St Mary’s Gate, Chesterfield.

The 31-year-old was eating lunch on Thursday, February 21, at about noon, when she was approached by a man she thought was begging or collecting money. He put a piece of paper on the table over her phone and the woman asked him to leave – which he did, taking her handset with him.

He was 5ft 8in, stocky, with dark hair and dark clothes.
