Take extra care at roadworks, drivers urged

MOTORIST are being urged to be more considerate when travelling through roadworks in South Yorkshire.

Superintendent Eddie Murphy, pictured, of the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership, said: “I ask members of the public to take care when travelling through roadworks, allowing extra time for their journey to take into account issues such as temporary traffic lights or reduced speed limits.

“When parking close to roadworks, please ensure your vehicle does not cause an obstruction to passing traffic or pedestrians.

“The works can sometimes include narrowed lanes for traffic and space for parking that would normally be available may not be accessible.”
