A man has suffered what police are describing as ‘serious injuries’ after a hit and run collision near Sheffield railway station today.
The injured man, thought to be a 19-year-old student, was hit on the A61 Sheaf Street, outside the railway station, at about 3am.
He was rushed to the city’s Northern General Hospital in Fir Vale where he is being treated.
Police said the driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.
However, the force said a 21-year-old man was this morning helping investigating officers with their enquiries.
