Sheffield’s world squash champion Nick Matthew will be meeting fans and signing copies of his new book in the city next week.
The 33-year-old star’s autobiography, Sweating Blood – My life in Squash, chronicles his battle to become the most successful English player of all time.
His 15-year career has seen him win 25 World Tour titles and be crowned world champion twice.
Nick was also British Open champion three times and holds five British national titles.
Paul Walters, his agent, said: “In the book, Nick psychoanalyses his own obsessive-compulsive personality and explains how it helps him win.
“He remembers how, as a late developer, he was constantly told he lacked the talent to succeed yet went on to become the most successful English player of all time. He gives an amazing behind-the-scenes access to the sport: the prize money, the anti-doping, the gruesome training, the post-match celebrations and more.
Nick will be at Waterstones, Orchard Square, in the city centre, on Tuesday, at 5pm.
