A BOY aged 16 is facing a lengthy jail term after admitting raping a Japanese tourist in a Sheffield park.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty yesterday to the sex attack last August in the Ponderosa, Upperthorpe.
The victim was an 18-year-old Japanese tourist who was visiting the city on holiday.
During a brief hearing at Sheffield Crown Court, the youth – aged 15 at the time – admitted rape.
The case was adjourned for sentencing in March, for the completion of reports.
The victim has returned to Japan, but is still being supported by South Yorkshire Police.
