Sheffield staff raise charity cash with Cube challenge

Civil servants raised hundreds of pounds for charity when they took part in an unusual physical challenge in Sheffield.

Workers from the Sheffield office of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills took on ‘The Cube’ at the city’s Meadowhall shopping centre, where they persuaded shoppers to take on the challenge of collecting the prize-winning balls blown around by The Cube’s cyclone system.

They managed to raise £550 for the city’s St Luke’s Hospice in Whirlow.

Tracy Raybould, hospice’s volunteer development manager, said: “We had 14 members of the BIS team taking part and are delighted so many wanted to get involved in supporting St Luke’s and helped us have such a fantastic day.

“Corporate activity days like this are great for us, but they are also great for the companies and organisations involved.”
