Detectives in Sheffield are investigating two raids at the same petrol station within five weeks of each other.

The Murco petrol station in Burncross Road, Chapeltown, was broken into in the early hours of Wednesday, January 8, and cigarettes were stolen from behind the till.

In the early hours of Wednesday, February 12, raiders forced entry again and stole cigarettes, cash and alcohol.

Police said in the second raid both offenders wore balaclavas, were white and aged between 18 and 25.

One was 5ft 10ins tall, of a stocky build and was wearing a dark hooded top, black bottoms and black and grey trainers.

The other was around 6ft tall, and was wearing a black North Face jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

The intruders involved in the first raid match the physical descriptions.

Police believe both incidents are linked.
