Three South Yorkshire organisations have been given a funding boost after securing grants from the Big Lottery Fund.

Sheffield Citizens Advice and Law Centre has received £245,373 from the Reaching Communities programme.

The money will be used to provide advice, advocacy and representation to the deaf community.

The centre’s advice team will work with members of the local deaf community, and raise awareness of issues.

Step Forward, run by the Cathedral Archer Project based in Sheffield city centre, has secured £395,114 to provide support to homeless adults in the region.

Meanwhile, Doncaster West Development Trust was awarded £286,707 to deliver a financial management information, advice and guidance service.
