TWO murder trials were due to get under way at Sheffield Crown Court today.
Imran Khan, aged 30, of Handsworth Road, Darnall, is accused of the murder of Anthony Power, the 78-year-old owner of successful Sheffield lingerie company Panache.
Mr Power died after he was attacked in High Hazels Park, Sheffield.
A spokeswoman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “ The trial is expected to run for four days and will be prosecuted by Crown Advocate Simon Waley.”
Mr Power’s company, based at Drake House, near Crystal Peaks, is a leading international brand with a presence in 30 countries and offices in New York, Germany and Hong Kong.
The firm supplies retail chains including Debenhams and House of Fraser, and has been endorsed by celebrities including Scarlett Johannson, Holly Willoughby and Katie Price.
The second case expected to start today is the trial of two men accused of murdering Wath dad Tyron Woodhead.
Mr Woodhead was gunned down on the doorstep of his home in Wath-upon-Dearne on October 24 last year.
Nathan Paul Wingfield and Stephen Barry Rodgers are both accused of his murder.
Wingfield, aged 22, of no fixed address, has also pleaded not guilty to an unrelated robbery on September 9, a further robbery on September 21, and possessing an axe at the Keepmoat Stadium on September 27.
Rodgers, aged 29, of no fixed address, denies Mr Woodhead’s murder and the September 21 robbery.
