A brave Rotherham woman is preparing to fulfil a lifelong ambition by jumping out of a plane.
Rowena Clarkson, from Brinsworth, will take part in a charity skydive to raise vital funds for St John’s Ambulance, on Sunday, August 24.
The 53-year-old unit manager of St John’s Ambulance in Rotherham is hoping to raise more than £400 through the jump.
She said: “The young people I work with said I would never do a skydive.
“It was one of those things I always fancied doing.
“Some friends did one about 10 years ago, but I missed out on that.
“I’m both excited and nervous.
“I am excited at the thought of finally getting the opportunity to have a go but when I think about first stepping out of that plane, my stomach goes.”
