A climber suffered a ‘serious medical collapse’ while tackling a route at Bamford Edge on Friday.
The man was lowered to the ground from a crag by his climbing partner while Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Team members made their way to the incident.
A mountain rescue doctor and paramedics took care of him before he was carried by stretcher to an waiting ambulance on the road.
The air ambulance had made several attempts to land nearby but the pilot was unable to find a suitable and safe landing site.
