Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport reopened this afternoon after a plane got into difficulties landing last night.
The Links Air flight, returning to Robin Hood from Belfast City Airport, suffered a problem with the undercarriage as it came in to land at around 7.30pm yesterday evening.
One passenger on board was taken to hospital for checks and the plane was moved to the side of the runway.
The affected runway at the airport was reopened at 2.45pm today after aircraft investigators completed their work at the site.
A statement from the airport said: “Following an incident involving a LinksAir flight at Doncaster Sheffield Airport yesterday evening, we are pleased to confirm that the runway at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield re-opened at 14:45pm this afternoon.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to passengers affected by the incident.”
Five fire engines and one command support unit from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were sent out to the airport, but their assistance was not required.
