Road expected to be closed all week due to flood, say Doncaster highways bosses

Fordstead Lane is closed due to flooding

Fordstead Lane is closed due to flooding

HIGHWAYS bosses expect one of Doncaster’s roads to be closed for the rest of the week due to flooding.

Fordstead Lane, in Barnby Dun, is still under up to 7ft of water, according to officials at Doncaster Council, who say it is unlikely to re-open this week. The road was previously flooded in April and July this year.

Also closed today has been Thorpe Bank, between its junction with Fordstead Lane and Thorpe Lane - the road linking the villages of Moss and Barnby Dun.

Topham Farm Lane and Oak Lane also closed in Sykehouse due to flooding.

Grey’s Bridge on Old Doncaster Road at Denaby Main was expected to re-open this afternoon (Christmas Eve).
