POLICE have closed off a main Sheffield road after a collision involving two vehicles.
Officers closed the A6102 Langsett Road North following the incident at around 2.15pm this afternoon.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the smash had involved a van and a car.
Two people were trapped and the fire service was at the scene cutting them from their vehicles.
Traffic has been diverted and the road is shut between Cockshutts Lane and Green Lane.
The diversion is not suitable for HGVs, which are being advised to use the Stocksbridge bypass.
