Heartbroken relatives of a university graduate stabbed to death while delivering pizzas in Sheffield have spoken of their loss.

Thavisha Peiris, aged 25, was delivering his last ever pizza on his final shift as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza when he was killed on Southey Crescent, Southey, on October 27.

He travelled to the UK from Sri Lanka to study IT at Sheffield Hallam University and had taken the job at Domino’s to help support him while he studied.

Thavisha had just landed a job as an IT consultant in Sheffield and was working his notice when he was attacked.

Colleagues concerned that he had not returned to their shop on Halifax Road, Wadsley Bridge, went out looking for Thavisha and found him slumped in his car.

In an interview with the BBC in Sri Lanka, Thavisha’s grieving mum Sudarma Narangama said: “I feel like the whole world has been destroyed.

“It was hard bringing him up, it was a lot of love and sacrifice, all wiped out, now we have no hope for the future.

“I can’t take being separated from him.”

A man and a teenage boy have both been charged over the murder.

Shamraze Khan, 26,of Southey Crescent, Southey and the 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been remanded in custody pending a plea and case management hearing in the new year.

A provisional trial date in June has been set.
