Police seeking purse thieves

SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE APPEAL   Police in Doncaster are appealing for the publics help in tracing two women who may be able to help with a theft that occurred on Wednesday, 25 January.   The incident happened around 3.15pm in a local supermarket in Doncaster town centre.   An elderly woman was doing her shopping in the store, when two women approached her. One of the women distracted her by asking her to reach for an item while the other one allegedly reached into her bag, which was in her trolley, and stole her purse.   Police have released a CCTV image of the two women they are hoping to trace.   Police would also like to remind residents to be vigilant when out in busy places and always keep bags secure and zipped up.     Anybody who may recognise the women should contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 715 of the 25 January 2012, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The incident happened at around 3.15pm on Wednesday, January 25, while the lady was doing her shopping.
