Police search for man who chased teens after bus stop robbery

NEWS: News.

NEWS: News.

Police are looking for a man who chased two teenage boys after they stole a handbag from a woman at a Sheffield bus stop.

At around 6.40pm on Tuesday, February 26, a 54-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop on Mansfield Road, Manor Top, Sheffield, when two teenagers snatched the bag from her shoulder.

The woman called the police, but within a few minutes a man with a young child approached her to say he had chased the boys - and that he had recovered her hand bag from them.

The woman did not get any details from the man, but police would like to speak to him as he may be able to assist with the investigation to identify the teenagers, who are thought to be around 13-years-old and around 4ft 10ins tall.

Anyone with information on the incident or the identity of the man who assisted the woman, is asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 908 of 26/02/2013.
