Police look for two men over South Yorkshire attack

a YOUNG man had to undergo surgery after he was attacked on a night out in Rotherham town centre.

The 22-year-old was at the side of Hedonism nightclub off Ship Hill when he became embroiled in a row with four others, said South Yorkshire Police.

Two of the men the Conisbrough man was arguing with punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

He was then kicked in the face as he lay on the ground.

During the attack the fourth man in the group punched the victim’s brother in the face.

Police said the seriously injured man was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital with a fractured cheekbone and needed an operation.

Two men, aged 20 and 22, have been arrested over the incident but detectives want to trace two others.

One is white, with short, dark hair, and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark top with blue jeans.

The other is white, with very short light blond hair. He is stocky and was wearing a dark top with blue jeans.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It is believed that he had a disagreement with a group of four men, and it is alleged that an unidentified man from the group punched the Conisbrough man in the face.

“Another man from the group allegedly also punched him, and when he fell to the ground it is reported that a third man allegedly kicked him in the face.

“During this incident it is believed that the fourth man in the group allegedly punched the man’s brother in the face.”
