Police granted more time to quiz suspects

DETECTIVES investigating a murder in Doncaster have been granted more time to quiz two suspects.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a man’s body in his home in Tadcaster Close, Denaby, at 6.30am on Saturday.

James King, aged 40, and known locally as Jock, had been stabbed to death.

Police sealed off Tadcaster Close all weekend in a bid to preserve the crime scene while forensic experts combed Mr King’s house, garden and the roads outside for possible clues.

Officers have carried out door-to-door inquiries in and around the street in a bid to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of Saturday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Detectives have been granted further time to question a 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of murder in Doncaster.

“The body of 40-year-old James King was found in the block of flats where he lived at Tadcaster Close, Denaby, at 6.30am on Saturday.

“He died of a stab wound.”

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
