Around 100 unmarked police vehicles have now been marked up with police badges in a bid to make the force more visible on the streets.
South Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright pledged to improve the visibility of the force when he was elected.
A force spokeswoman said: “Shaun Wright made it one of his priorities – included in his Police and Crime Plan – to improve police visibility.
“As part of this, the force’s vehicle fleet management has marked up around 100 existing plain police vehicles so far, meaning they are now more visible as a police vehicle.
“These are existing fleet vehicles and not additional new vehicles.
“The vehicles marked range in colour and include red, blue, grey and white.”
