Parents in Derbyshire will hear about their child’s secondary school place this week.
The authority will make offers of places to 7,540 Derbyshire children on Friday, March 1.
Of those who applied by the closing date, 98.6 per cent have been offered their first choice school, the authority said.
Overall 99.7 per cent have been offered a place at one of their three preferred schools.
This is the eighth year the county council has acted as a central clearing house to deal with admissions to all secondary schools, including voluntary aided, academy and foundation schools.
Derbyshire County Council Coun Mike Longden, cabinet member for education, said: “I’m pleased that the requests of the vast majority of parents have been met.”
