NEWS IN BRIEF: House broken into through window

A HOUSE on Springwood Road, Heeley, Sheffield, was broke into during daylight hours last Tuesday when a window was left open.

Police are investigating the break-in as well as another on Edmund Avenue, Greenhill, committed overnight on Saturday January 21.

A garage on Queen Victoria Road, Totley, Sheffield, was also broken into last week - overnight on Wednesday into Thursday.

Thefts from vehicles

POLICE are investigating a number of thefts from vehicles parked in Sheffield over the last week.

They were targeted on Hallyburton Road, Arbourthorne, The Greenway, Greenhill; Overend Road, Gleadless Valley; Bishopscourt Road, Meersbrook and Warminster Road, Norton Lees.

A FAULTY washing machine was to blame for a fire in a house on Hickmott Road, Hunters Bar, Sheffield.

Firefighters dealt with the incident at 2pm on Sunday.

A SHED on an allotment on Wakefield Road, Barnsley, went up in flames in an arson attack in the early hours of Sunday.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 1.30am.

And a shed on Brocklehurst Avenue, Norton, has also been raided.

Anyone with information should call 101.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a garage found engulfed in flames on Colley Crescent, Parson Cross, Sheffield.

The blaze was started deliberately.

AN investigation is underway into the cause of a fire at a house on Grindlow Close, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield.

It started outside the property and smoke filtered into the terraced property.

There was nobody in the house at the time.
