A SHEFFIELD family who ‘road-tested’ a car-free trip around the Lake District have given the experience the thumbs up.

Catherine Ball, aged 32, from Beighton, her husband Jon, 35, and their daughters Sophie, three, and Jessica, one, won a competition to help promote sustainable travel - and used cruise boats, open-top buses and the railway to get around. “It was surprisingly easy,” said Catherine.
