A ROAD was closed after a car struck a bridge – leading to fears there may have been structural damage.
Police said a silver BMW collided with the bridge on Centenary Way in Rotherham just after 3.20pm on Wednesday. The driver, a man in his 40s, was unharmed.
Fridge caught fire
STAFF at The University of Sheffield Students’ Union on Western Bank dealt with a fridge fire while firefighters were on their way. The fire at University House was discovered by staff at 12.30am yesterday.
Machinery arson
A ROAD roller was damaged by fire in an arson attack on Park Avenue, Cudworth, Barnsley. The machinery was parked up ready to be used yesterday in roadworks.
Graffiti markings
POLICE in Sheffield are appealing for help tracing culprits responsible for graffiti tags appearing around Woodseats and Gleadless Valley.
