NEWS IN BRIEF: Petition fights library cuts
A PETITION is being launched in Sheffield today in protest at cuts to library services.
Unison Sheffield will launch the petition outside the Central Library at 11am. It says: “Cuts to opening hours, decline in book stock, lack of new equipment and increased workloads for library workers reduce the capacity of the service to meet the needs of the community.”
A public meeting is on February 29, 6.30pm, in the Quaker Meeting House, Saint James Street, city centre.
