News In Brief: Charity looks for greyhound homes

Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust will be in Doncaster town centre on Saturday from 10am to 2.30pm with a number of greyhounds looking for homes.

LGT rehomes retired racing greyhounds when they have finished racing. The organisation has a kennel within 30 minutes of Doncaster, and provides support and back-up to owners who take in dogs. It has already rehomed 98 greyhounds this year.

Sixties night

A ROCK and roll charity night is being held at the New Hall, Bawtry, on Saturday evening to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The Daybreakers band will be performing sounds from the Sixties, and tickets are priced £10 to include a pie and pea supper.

Legs eleven

Lucy Coy, from the Mecca bingo club in East Laith Gate, Doncaster, was one of 94 runners from clubs across the UK who took part in the Great North Run to raise money for their chosen charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care.
