A GARDEN shed was destroyed when it was set alight in the early hours of yesterday.
The fire on Calder Way, Firth Park, Sheffield, was discovered at 2.45am.
Road closure
the installation of a new water main will lead to the closure of Carr Lane, Ingbirchworth, Barnsley, for two weeks. Balfour Beatty will start the work on Monday, December 10, and a diversion will be in place along Huddersfield Road, Halifax Road, Renald Lane, Firs Lane, Cat Hill Lane and New Road.
Chip pan fire
A WOMAN in her 70s was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics after a chip pan fire in her home. She was in the house, on Foljambe Drive, Dalton, Rotherham, when the fire broke out at 6pm on Thursday.
Arsonist strikes
AN arsonist set fire to rubbish in a derelict house on Carlton Road, Smithies, Barnsley. Firefighters were called out at 6.30pm on Thursday.
