Gym seeks to fire up enthusiasm

with motivation for going to the gym falling off by the spring, Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre Doncaster is offering to help people get back on track this month.

The free Meet Our Experts event today from 8am to 2pm at White Rose Way, Doncaster, will be hosted by the Nuffield Health fitness team who will offer information on nutrition and exercise, plus tips and advice on spring cleaning your health and fitness routines.

For those looking to find a new fix there will be free taster sessions of kettlebell exercises, ViPR - a training tool used to increase core muscle strength, improve flexibility and balance - and TRX, a suspension trainer to build core muscle groups and increase muscle endurance.

Spring concert

doncaster Concert Band makes a welcome return to Tickhill on Saturday when it performs at the spring concert at St Mary’s Church. The event has been organised by June and Roy Havenhand of Tickhill Residents’ Association and admission is £7.

Polling problem

Hatfield Town Council wants to know why polling cards were not issued for a recent by-election after members of the public complained they were unaware it was taking place so had not cast their vote.

Gaming night

the Cooper and Griffin pub on High Street, Bawtry, is the venue for a Casino Royale evening on Friday when guests can play roulette, craps and blackjack as well as enjoy a buffet.
