House dishwasher burst into flames

TWO fire engines were sent to a house on Collegiate Crescent, Broomhall, Sheffield, after a dishwasher went up in flames. But when crews arrived at the house at 10.30pm on Wednesday the flames were already out.

M1 traffic signals

WORK to install traffic lights on the M1 at junction 36 is to begin on Monday. The project is expected to last until the end of April. North and southbound exit slip roads will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am daily.

Suspicious driver

POLICE are re-appealing for help in tracing a motorist who called out to two girls leaving a park. The man’s ‘suspicious’ behaviour was reported by the girls, aged 11 and 12, on New Year’s Day in Chesterfield. He was white, clean shaven, and possibly had a skin complaint.

Rubbish ablaze

A PILE of rubbish was set alight on Strauss Crescent, Maltby, Rotherham, at 11.30pm on Wednesday.
