Man breathed in smoke from blaze
FIRE broke out accidentally in the kitchen of a house on Springfield Road, Hoyland, Barnsley, but was out by the time firefighters arrived at 10.30pm on Wednesday.
In another kitchen blaze, firefighters removed a burning cooker from a house on Kimberworth Park Road, Rotherham, after it caught fire last Sunday. A man in his 50s was treated for slight smoke inhalation.
Cannabis arrests
POLICE arrested a man for public order offences and cannabis possession while housing officers were managing an eviction in Shiregreen last Friday. He is now on bail.
In Parson Cross, police arrested another man in connection with the supply and cultivation of cannabis after raiding a house on Wordsworth Crescent on Friday.
