Wood beside stove starts lounge blaze

A BLAZE broke out in a house on Brook Road, Meersbrook, Sheffield, after wood left next to a wood-burning stove went up in flames. The fire, reported at 7.35pm, on Sunday, did not spread through the house.

Meanwhile firefighters were called to Rosedale Gardens, Hunters Bar, Sheffield, after an extractor fan caught fire. Nobody was injured in the incident at 6.50pm on Sunday.

Fire at the cinema

fire crews were called to a disused cinema after rubbish burning behind the building started raging out of control. The fire on Hill Street, Elsecar, Barnsley, was reported at 12.30pm on Saturday.

Another blaze broke out in the roof of KFC on Wakefield Road, Barnsley, after an extractor fan developed a fault. Firefighters were alerted at 10.50am on Sunday.

Arson destroys car

A FIAT Ulysse found burning on Eastern Drive, Arbourthorne, Sheffield, had been set alight deliberately at 11.20pm on Saturday.

Shed set ablaze

A SHED was broken into on Slate Street, Lowfield, Sheffield, overnight a week last Sunday, and an outhouse on Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley, was raided last Monday. A pile of rubbish set alight on Barnsley Road, Cudworth, was extinguished at 5.15am yesterday.
