A proud new dad has paid tribute to his little brother – who died a year ago – by naming his baby son after him.
Schoolboy Lewis Eddleston died, aged 13, in November 2012. He drowned accidentally in a ditch in Edenthorpe, Doncaster, while playing out with friends just a mile from his home.
Now, after a very tough year for the family, Lewis’ older brother Martin, aged 30, has become a dad.
And, in tribute to the brother he lost, he and his partner Lindsay Clarke, 29, from Wheatley Hills, have named their newborn Finley Lewis Eddleston.
“We thought this was a nice way of keeping his memory alive,” said Lindsay.
“Martin’s family were over the moon that we had decided to give him Lewis as a middle name.
“It’s been a tough year, but everyone has pulled together.
“He is absolutely gorgeous,” she added.
“He’s a real wriggler. I don’t think it’ll be long before he’s rolling over.”
