A NEW art gallery has opened its doors to the public for the first time.
The White Gallery, situated in the historic Old Hall at University Centre Doncaster’s High Melton Campus, has marked its launch with an exhibition by local artist Madeline Pick.
The display by Madeline, who graduated from the University’s BA Fine Art and Crafts course in 2011, is entitled The Long Way and refers to the unconventional journey she took to becoming an artist.
After pursuing a career as a primary school teacher she became an artist in 2007, aged 54.
Madeline’s exhibition runs until January 25 and is open 10am until 4pm on weekdays.
A college spokesman said: “The White Gallery is the culmination of three years’ work by staff, students, lecturers and managers.”
