Labour MP and former paratrooper, Dan Jarvis, is to host a performance of the Military Wives Choir of 3 YORKS in the speaker’s apartments of the Houses of Parliament.
The event takes place on Tuesday, October 23.
The Barnsley Central MP said: “The Yorkshire Regiment Military Wives Choir came together to provide mutual support during the worrying period their husbands and partners were deployed in Afghanistan.
“This has been a particularly difficult tour with nine soldiers from the Regiment falling in the line of duty.
“Music has an incredible way of bringing people together, especially at times of worry and uncertainty, and offering them a solace.
“It is important Parliament recognises the contribution families make in supporting our armed forces.”
