DON Valley MP Caroline Flint has pledged her support for local shops after meeting smaller store owners at the House of Commons.
Ms Flint met Auckley News owner Ammo Bdhaal, a member of the Association of Convenience Stores, who was promoting the important role local shops play in communities.
She said: “MPs hear from major retailers all the time yet local shops provide essential goods and services in our communities, and it is vital that MPs hear their message and support these retailers both in Westminster and the local area.
“They are at the heart of communities and Government must do everything it can to ensure they succeed during this difficult time.”
