PRIME Minister David Cameron was put on the spot by a Rotherham MP over support for young people.
Sarah Champion, Labour MP for Rotherham, challenged the coalition leader during Parliament question time after hearing Rotherham College of Arts and Technology may face a reduction in the number of students between the ages of 16 and 18 it can recruit next year.
The proposal would reduce the college’s ability to support additional unemployed young people and Mrs Champion accused Mr Cameron of denying them an education.
But he replied: “In the region, employment is up by 21,000 this quarter, and by 74,000 since the election. We have taken 192,000 people in her region out of tax altogether, and youth unemployment has fallen since the election.”
