South Yorkshire commuters are being advised emergency repairs are being carried out on the A628 Trans-Pennine route to Manchester tonight into the early hours of tomorrow.
Electricity North West will be carrying out work on the A57 at Mottram between the A628 and M67.
The site is at the junction of the A57 Hyde Road and John Kennedy Road, east of the roundabout.
The work will affect John Kennedy Road and both the eastbound and westbound carriageways of the A57 which link the A628 and M67.
Temporary three way traffic lights will be in place but drivers are being urged to seek alternative Trans-Pennine routes.
The work is expected to be completed before tomorrow morning’s rush hour.
Drivers are urged to check travel conditions online before setting out on their journeys.
