Motorcyclist in critical condition after Peak District crush

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital following a serious crash in the Peak District.

The incident occurred on Saturday, at about 5.10pm, on the A57 Snake Pass, between Snake Summit and Ladybower Inn.

A red Honda CBR 600, travelling from the direction of Glossop, and a grey Skoda Yeti, from the Ladybower direction, crashed in an area known locally as Rowlee Farm.

The rider of the Honda, a 24-year-old man from Leeds, was airlifted to Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, with extensive serious injuries.

He remained in a critical condition last night.

Two passengers in the Skoda were also being treated for serious injuries.

n Witnesses who saw the collision or the vehicles are asked to contact Derbyshire Police on 101.
