Man seriously injured in Doncaster town centre attack

A MAN has been left with serious head injuries after an alleged attack near a phone box near Doncaster town centre on Saturday night.

The 39-year-old victim, from Doncaster, is reported to have been assaulted near the box on King’s Road at the junction with Broxholme Lane at around 5.30pm on Saturday February 23.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with head injuries, where his condition was described as ‘serious but stable’.

Detectives believe up to three men could have been involved in the attack.

Anyone who witnessed the alleged assault should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1058 of Saturday February 23, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
