Man injured in stabbing in Sheffield on New Year’s Day

A man was seriously injured in a stabbing near a Sheffield pub in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The 19-year-old was attacked during a disturbance involving two groups of men near to the Three Feathers on Bowden Wood Crescent, Darnall at around 1am.

Emergency services were called to the crime scene and the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police officers carried out inquiries at the scene and arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was still in custody yesterday helping police with their inquiries.
