A post mortem examination has revealed that a man whose body was pulled from a stream in South Yorkshire had drowned.
The man, who police have not yet identified, was found in a stream close to Valley Road, Wombwell, Barnsley, on Monday, at 6.05pm.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A post-mortem examination of the body of a man found in a Barnsley stream has provisionally concluded that he died from drowning.
“Enquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death but officers believe at this stage that the death is not suspicious.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place.”
Detective are trying to piece together the man’s last known movements.
