Detectives have tonight charged a man with the murder of Sheffield dad Simon Holdsworth.
Shaun Richard Wainwright, aged 45, of Dagnam Road, Arbourthorne, has been charged with the murder of 36-year-old Simon - six months after he was killed.
He is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Wainwright was initially arrested in January, a month after the murder, and released on bail pending further police inquiries.
Mr Holdsworth’s body was discovered slumped in a field next to Rainbow Forge Primary School, off Birley Spa Lane, Hackenthorpe, on Tuesday, December 17.
A post mortem examination revealed he died from head injuries.
The paintsprayer, from Westfield Avenue, Hackenthorpe, was attacked as he made his way home from work at FBS Prestige in Intake, Sheffield.
He failed to make it home to his fiancee Carleen McKeown and her three-year-old son Tiarnan, and was reported missing.
Mr Holdsworth and Miss McKeown were engaged to be married.
Colleagues said he had been working extra shifts in order to save money to pay for their big day.
