A MAN has been arrested after a car crashed into a tree near Doncaster and was found abandoned.

Police are appealing for information about a blue Renault Clio which went into a ditch and hit a tree on Moss Road, near Fenwick Common Lane, around 1am on Sunday.

A 46-year-old woman from Moss was taken to Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital for treatment for injuries to her back and neck and a 39-year-old man from Batley, West Yorkshire, received lacerations to the top of his head and burn marks to his arms.

He has been arrested and released on police bail pending further enquiries. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the car beforehand, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 104 of January 6.
