A 46-year-old man from Scunthorpe has been airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary with what are described as serious injuries after his HGV was in collision with another lorry on the westbound carriageway near Bjunction two at Belton.

The incident took place at around 10am between an orange coloured DAF HGV and a green coloured Volvo HGV.

The driver of the Volvo truck, a 48 year old man from Cumbria was not injured in the collision.

Extensive road closures have been in place on the M180 since the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call Humberside Police, telephone 101 quoting log 205 of 11 March 2013.

The incident came just over an hour after a similar incident between two other lorries closed the M180 between junctions one and two.

The first crash happened when two heavy goods vehicles collided on the westbound carriageway near Thorne.
