Legal ace Laura picks up prize

Atherton Godfrey

Atherton Godfrey

A TRAINEE solicitor at a Doncaster law firm has become the latest recipient of a prestigious award aimed at recognising local legal talent.

Laura Armstrong, aged 25, clinched the Sidney Herbert Clay award for being the most successful student on the Legal Practice Diploma course and then going on to work within a 20 mile radius of Sheffield.

Laura, who studied at The University of Sheffield, and is currently working within the personal injury team at Atherton Godfrey as part of her two-year training contract, said: “The award has gone to trainees at the Sheffield offices of global law firm DLA Piper for the last seven years in a row, so it’s great that it goes to a different firm this year.”

The award also includes £250 from Mr Clay’s legacy.
