Lamppost falls on car and house

A BIKER is in hospital after a collision felled a lamppost which toppled and landed on a car and house.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash on the A630 at Sheffield Road, Warmsworth, that left a 45-year-old man with serious arm injuries.

The blue Skygo LF motorcycle was travelling towards Rotherham at 6pm on Sunday, when it is believed the bike swerved and struck the kerb, resulting in the rider being thrown into a lamppost.

The motorcycle then followed, and hit the same post causing it to break at the base and crash down onto a parked Vauxhall Vectra and the roof of a house. Witnesses should call police on 101 quoting incident 957 of December 9.
