Intelligence expert ‘blamed Government for bombings’

AN INTELLIGENCE expert who claims he was sacked for penning a report accusing the Government of being responsible for the London bombings is suing South Yorkshire Police.

Tony Farrell, aged 51, from Barnsley, wrote that the Government was “the enemy within” in an annual threat assessment dossier.

Mr Farrell - a divorced dad-of-two - earned £35,000 a year as a civilian worker for South Yorkshire Police, advising his bosses where to focus resources.

He was fired last September after he refused to have his mental health checked by a doctor.

Mr Farrell is now suing the force for unfair dismissal, demanding £140,000 in damages.

Mr Farrell, who claims he was South Yorkshire Police’s top analyst for 12 years, wrote about the conspiracy after stumbling across an article on the internet.

He also said US authorities were responsible for the September 11 attacks, saying they were part of a “gigantic, evil conspiracy” to build support for war along with July 7.

Mr Farrell said there was no risk from Islamic extremists, and that tackling crime and protecting vulnerable people was “irrelevant”.

The analyst said he was “appalled and shocked” by what he’d read online.

“Everything we had been told was a lie,” he added.

“I have evidence the Government is underpinned by a satanic ideology.”

His police bosses said he wrongly gave priority to “global and national perspectives that are out of balance with priorities in South Yorkshire”.

South Yorkshire Police is expected to defend the claim at a tribunal in Sheffield later this year.

His claim of discrimination was thrown out at an earlier hearing.
