A WOMAN who got off a train at Doncaster after a suitcase was stolen is being sought by police.

British Transport Police have released an image of a woman they would like to speak to about the luggage which went missing from a train on Friday, December 21.

PC Ewan Brechin, the investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 21-year-old woman from Northampton, had boarded the 12.57 Hull to Sheffield Northern Rail service at Hull.

“The victim placed her suitcase in the designated luggage rack on the train, but when she checked the rack later in the journey, she discovered it was missing.”

Officers have followed several lines of enquiry into the incident, including viewing CCTV footage from on the train, and have since identified a woman they want to speak to as they believe she has key information.

PC Brechin added: “I would urge anyone who recognises the woman pictured, who is thought to have left the service at Doncaster, or knows her whereabouts, to please get in touch.”
