SOMBRE commemorations took place in Sheffield’s Winter Garden as a vigil service was held to mark Holocaust Memorial Day .
Members of the city’s Jewish community and other minority groups were present for the ceremony, led by Lord Mayor, Coun John Campbell.
Sheffield’s gay choir Outaloud performed, while speeches were read and candles lit in memory of the millions of people killed.
The Winter Garden is hosting a Holocaust Memorial display each day until Sunday.
As part of the display, visitors will have the opportunity to write down their thoughts and reflections.
